An Ombudsman advocates for quality of life and care for residents living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. An Ombudsman completes state-approved training and is certified by the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman. The Ombudsman Program is certified by the Texas Health and Human Services.
The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program utilizes volunteers in each county to respond to and investigate resident complaints. Ongoing training and support is provided for volunteers. Persons interested in volunteering should contact the Managing Local Ombudsman for more information.
