2027-2029
Area Plan
As required by the Older Americans Act, as amended in 2020 (Section 306, Area Plans), the Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) Area Agency on Aging (AAA) has developed its 2027–2029 Area Plan, approved by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Office of Area Agencies on Aging and effective October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2029. The plan serves as the roadmap for delivering coordinated, person-centered services that help older adults, caregivers, and disabled adults remain independent, healthy, and engaged in their communities. It outlines the agency’s goals, priorities, and strategies for expanding access to supportive services, nutrition programs, transportation, caregiver assistance, benefits counseling, home and community-based services, evidence-based wellness programs, and long-term care advocacy across the Ark-Tex region.
