Public Information Request

The Texas Public Information Act gives the public the right to request access to government information.

MAKING A REQUEST
The Act is triggered when a person submits a written request to a governmental body. The request must ask for records or information already in existence. The Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, to do legal research, or to answer questions. In preparing a request, a person may want to ask the governmental body what information is available. You may request public information online by completing our form, via email, via postal mail, via fax, or by dropping off the request at our office during normal business hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.).

ATCOG has 10 business days to respond to the request (day one is the first business day following the receipt of the request).
