ATCOG team members William and Ray recently put their GIS expertise on the global stage with a map highlighting emergency telephone numbers used around the world. Using data from the U.S. Department of State and the UK Government, they created a global resource showing emergency numbers by country and submitted their work to the Map Gallery at the 2026 Esri User Conference.
Held July 13–17 at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California, the Esri User Conference brought together nearly 20,000 GIS professionals, industry leaders and technology experts in person, along with thousands more participating online. This year’s conference centered on the theme, “GIS—Creating a more intelligent world,” and showcased innovative uses of geographic information systems and ArcGIS technology.
Having ATCOG’s work highlighted at one of the world’s largest GIS gatherings demonstrates the skill and innovation of our staff and shows that meaningful work being done right here in Northeast Texas can gain recognition on an international stage.
