Rea Allen joined the ATCOG team in 2009 and currently serves as the 911 GIS Program Director. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the 911 Program, which includes the 911 Network and Technical Operations for nine Texas counties and the City of Texarkana, Arkansas.
Her primary objectives are to ensure residents and visitors to the ATCOG region have access to reliable 911 service and that all 911 centers have state-of-the-art technologies, well-trained professionals, continuous network provision, and continuous public education campaigns.
The thing Rea loves the most about her job is how the 911 Program implements the technology that bridges gaps in communication, provides real-time situational awareness, and delivers faster, more effective assistance to those in need. In the end, it all potentially saves lives.
