Kim Palmore joined the ATCOG team in April 2018 as a Program Assistant for the Aging Department and by September of that year, she was the Managing Local Ombudsman.
“My dedication and passion for advocating on behalf of residents led me to achieve my Ombudsman II certification in March 2021. I love what I do, and I’m living the dream,” Kim said.
In her role, Kim visits nursing homes and assisted living facilities across the ATCOG region, where she empowers residents with their rights and encourages them to use their on voices.
“I work hard to bring resolutions to the complaints residents have concerning their quality care and quality of life. I set in care plan meetings, resident council meetings, and offer training to facilities. I also make sure our program meets all of the state requirements and provide training to our staff,” said Kim.
From spending time at the family cabin on the Cassatot River to going on trips around the country, Kim loves to travel with her husband.
If she could meet one person, it would be Jesus.
“His love for me is the greatest I will ever know. He died so I could live. He is the most famous human ever, and the savior of the whole world. I can only imagine what that day will be like,” Kim said.
Kim’s favorite quote is Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine.” She also loves a quote from the movie Steel Magnolias, “I would rather have 30 minutes of wonderful than a lifetime of nothing special.”
