Paris Metro

Since July 2016, Paris Metro has been providing the City of Paris with convenient and reliable transportation. We make getting around the city simple for everyone.

For residents who can’t use the fixed-route service due to physical or mental challenges, our paratransit service is here to help. While Paris Metro is open to the public, you’ll need a referral from your physician to qualify for paratransit services.

ADA Complementary Paratransit Service in Paris, Texas

Need a safe, accessible, and reliable transportation option in Paris, Texas? The ADA Complementary Paratransit Service is designed specifically for individuals with disabilities who qualify as “ADA Paratransit Eligible.” This service provides door-to-door transportation that’s just as efficient and dependable as the city’s fixed-route system.

Why Choose Our Paratransit Service?

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) operates a fleet of ADA-compliant vehicles in Paris, including:

  • Three fixed-route buses
  • One dedicated Paratransit bus

All vehicles are equipped with lifts and ramps to ensure easy access. If additional vehicles are needed, ATCOG can use its rural transportation fleet to assist with paratransit service needs. Our paratransit service isn’t just transportation—it’s a lifeline that helps our community members maintain their independence and mobility.

How the Service Works

Our Paratransit service offers two flexible options to suit your needs:

Subscription Service

  • Ideal for recurring trips (e.g., weekly appointments at the same time and location).
    • Requests must be made at least one day before the first trip and can be scheduled up to 14 days in advance.
    • Subscription trips are capped at 50% of all scheduled trips to ensure availability for others.
  1. Reservation Service
    • For one-time trips, requests must be made by the close of business the day before or up to 14 days in advance.
    • Return trips must also be scheduled, even if the exact return time is unknown. Passengers can estimate the time and call to adjust if needed.

Scheduling Made Simple

  • Flexible Pick-Up Times
Trips are scheduled to ensure arrival within a 15-minute window.
Example: If your appointment is at 2 p.m. and the drive takes 20 minutes, expect your driver between 1:10 – 1:40 p.m.
  • Accommodations for All Trip Purposes
No trip purpose information is required. Whether it’s for a medical appointment or personal errand, we’re here to help.

When the office is closed, you can leave your trip request on our answering machine, and we’ll handle the scheduling for the next service day.
