MT. PLEASANT, Texas — The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program at the Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) will host a Financial Literacy Seminar on Wednesday, Jan. 21, to help eligible housing program participants build practical money-management skills and work toward long-term financial security.
The seminar will begin at 10 a.m. at the Northeast Texas Workforce Center in Mt. Pleasant and is open to current ATCOG Family Self-Sufficiency participants and Housing Choice Voucher participants. The event will focus on saving, investing and making smarter financial decisions, supporting the FSS program’s mission of promoting economic stability and self-sufficiency.
Guest speaker Teresa Banda-Pardon of Guaranty Bank & Trust will lead the seminar, sharing guidance on building financial security and developing sustainable financial habits. Breakfast will be provided, and attendees will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible for a door prize.
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program is a voluntary program that allows participants to build savings while pursuing employment, education or other personal goals, helping families move toward long-term financial independence.
Attendance is limited to individuals who currently hold a Housing Choice Voucher through ATCOG. Registration is required and can be completed online at:
