Toni Lindsey has been part of the Ark-Tex Council of Governments since February 2018, guiding communities across the region through the detailed and ongoing work of economic development. As Regional Development Director, she leads a team focused on securing and administering grants that support growth for cities, counties, and economic development corporations. “I have the privilege to work side by side with great Development staff impacting cities, counties, and EDCs with grants to impact economic growth in our region,” she said.
Her days shift between writing new grant applications, tracking results from submissions, and managing projects already underway. The work requires consistency and adaptability, shaped by funding cycles and community needs. She enjoys the learning that comes with the role and the opportunity to pursue new opportunities. “What I like most about my job is constantly learning and looking for new funding sources,” she said.
Outside the office, Toni fills her time with hobbies that bring both excitement and focus. She rides a Harley Trike when the weather allows and the roads are free from construction. She loves bass fishing and enjoys target shooting.
Her perspective on life comes from years of reflection and gratitude. When asked what advice she would give her 13-year-old self, she shared, “Life does not always turn out as you planned but if you trust in God, give your all, and love all that you are given, you will have a wonderful life. Always be thankful and never regret the past.”
Family, faith, and home anchor everything she does. As she put it, her world is made up of “God; My son and daughter-in-law, daughter, four grand-sons, two grand-daughter-in-law, great grand-son and great grand-daughter; My Four Cats; My Job; and My Home.”
