Spotlight: Jenny Butler

Jenny Butler joined the Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) in March 2013 and has become an integral part of our team. As the Ark-Tex Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Director, she’s passionate about community engagement and outreach.

Making a Difference Every Day

Jenny regularly participates in community events with staff, including quarterly Lunch-and-Learns, the Aging in Texas Conference, health fairs, and various other activities that provide outreach and resources about programs related to both the AAA and the Area Disability Resource Center (ADRC).

Why She Loves Her Role

When asked what she loves most about her job, Jenny’s answer is simple but meaningful: “I love our team and the opportunities to help others!” This dedication to service shines through in her daily work and community involvement.

  • Advice to her younger self: “Don’t be in a hurry to grow up too fast!”
  • Favorite childhood memory: “Riding bikes with my twin sister!”
  • Favorite quote: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
