The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for Part-Time TRAX Drivers across the ATCOG region.

Your application MUST identify the required minimum qualifications for this position. EDUCATION/TRAINING: Requires high school diploma or its equivalent. Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license in accordance with the type of vehicle operated.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA’s)

Knowledge of vehicle operations. Must pass a Federal Transit Administration (FTA) approved drug test and criminal background check.

Skill/Ability Must possess verbal, people skills; the ability to think through situations and deal with problems constructively; and the ability to deal with stress. Must be self-motivated with a clean driving record. Must possess ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Must be able to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position is responsible for providing transportation services to individuals, including persons with disabilities, in a safe and timely manner; and operating and maintaining the TRAX vehicles.

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for Housing Specialist, Announcement #1807. This is a full-time position located in the Texarkana, Texas, Housing Program office, with travel throughout the region. Salary is $3,044 per month. The position is responsible for providing Section 8 rental assistance, housing counseling and social service referrals to eligible applicants and tenants in the ATCOG region.

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Bachelor degree in business, public administration or related field; OR High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 4 years demonstrated performance in public housing assistance programs or other social services programs; OR any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA’s)
Knowledge of general office equipment required. Knowledge of use of a PC in a windows-based environment required. Knowledge of public housing rules and regulations preferred.

Skill/Ability Skills/abilities to maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public necessary. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment required. Must possess the ability to work in a team environment and independently, and the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, required. Must be organized and detail oriented. Skill to operate a computer with Microsoft office applications required. Ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds required. Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Additional Requirement: must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license subject to an approved motor vehicle report and reliable transportation with valid proof of insurance for travel within the ATCOG region.
