Title TRAX Driver

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for a TRAX Driver in Paris, TX. CDL is preferred but not required. This position is responsible for providing transportation services to individuals, including persons with disabilities, in a safe and timely manner; and operating and maintaining the TRAX vehicles.

Your application MUST identify the required minimum qualifications for this position. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA’s)

Skill/Ability Skills required are demonstrated proficiency in vehicle operation. Must possess verbal, people skills; the ability to think through situations and deal with problems constructively; and the ability to deal with stress. Must be self-motivated with a clean driving record. Must possess ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Title Housing Inspector
Salary$16.54/hour

Job Information

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for Housing Inspector, Announcement #1904. This is a full-time position located throughout the ATCOG region. Salary is $16.54 per hour. The position is responsible for the Housing Quality Standards compliance of all Section 8 rental units in order to ensure coordination and adherence to all program regulations/requirements and all pertinent federal, state and local laws. This position will be responsible for the counties of Lamar, Red River, Hopkins, Delta, Franklin, Wood, Upshur, Gregg, and Van Zandt.

EDUCATION/TRAINING: Two (2) years of college or accredited trade school and one (1) year experience in a housing program; OR High School Diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years experience in housing construction or housing assistance programs; OR a certification from an accredited trainer or trade school on housing inspections; OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA’s)
Knowledge: Working knowledge of Section 8 Existing, Voucher and Moderate Rehabilitation Programs in the areas of operations and regulations; thorough knowledge of Housing Quality inspections; considerable knowledge of housing inspection techniques, procedures and practices; working knowledge of construction methods, material, terminology and building maintenance.

Skill/Ability: Ability to maintain effective, positive relationships with fellow employees, tenants and owners/managers. Ability to express ideas and recommendations in oral and written form. Skill to operate PC and general office equipment required. Ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 30 pounds required. Must perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Requirement: Must possess a valid vehicle operator’s license subject to an approved motor vehicle report and reliable transportation with valid proof of insurance for extensive travel within ATCOG region.

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for Operations Dispatcher/Scheduler, Announcement #1905.  This is a full-time position located in the Texarkana, Texas office.  Salary for the position is $12.14 per hour.  This position is responsible for receiving transportation requests via phone and assigns client pick-ups to schedules and dispatching TRAX vehicles. This position assists in day to day operations of Rural Public Transportation services. This position also coordinates with the drivers in given area for vehicle repair, scheduling, managing compensatory time and time off. They will also review paperwork submitted by drivers in given area, including timesheets.

Knowledge of transit operations and practices, particularly of demand-responsive systems. Knowledge of roads and streets within given region.

Skill/Ability: Computer skills with knowledge of Windows environment programs such as Word and Excel. Ability to operate communication equipment and the ability to dispatch vehicles throughout a transit system. Basic arithmetic and proper use of the English language, spelling and grammar required. Ability to operate vehicles in a safe and lawful manner in accordance with motor vehicle laws and regulations.
